On Monday 28 April on the Iberian Peninsula came to mass power failure. – We do not know yet, which is the direct reason for Blackout in Spain. We know that a dozen or so gigawatts of power fell out of the local power system, i.e. practically all conventional units working then (e.g. nuclear and gas power plants). Therefore, there was probably a cascading exclusion of these powers, but this is a consequence of a certain event, not the cause of the whole situation – commented in an interview with Gazeta.pl Jakub Wiech, editor -in -chief of the Energetyka24.com portal.
Blackout in Spain. Could it be a cyber attack?
Our interlocutor emphasized that at this point it is difficult to say what could have caused such a powerful fault. – Theoretically, it could have been a failure in one of the power plants, a transmission system failure, cyber attack or other form of sabotage, a sudden change in the demand for power, human error, collapse of weather conditions or combination of these factors – explained Jakub Wiech.

– At the system level, this can be done by decentralization and construction of the most autonomous subsystems that will be able to supply themselves for some time. You should also prepare at the unit level, i.e. equip yourself in The most necessary things to facilitate Blackout survival.
