The head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, reacted to the reports on groups opposing epidemic restrictions and preventive vaccinations against coronavirus. According to media reports, some of these people wear military uniforms. “Anti-vaccine terrorists cannot pretend to be soldiers of the Polish Army,” said Błaszczak.
This week, journalists from “Gazeta Wyborcza” in Poznań described associations opposing the restrictions related to the COVID-19 epidemic. They are reported to be civilian organizations, yet their members “are in full uniform.” Polish army“.
These reports were commented on on Thursday by the leader of the Civic Platform Donald Tusk. – Groups of people in military uniform, without any authorization, attack vaccination points, gather, form some organizations. This is reminiscent of the worst moments, for example, from the times of the Ukrainian revolution and the situation in Belarus – he said.
At the same time, he addressed PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński: – Jarosław, go out to the people and say what you are going to do about it as the deputy prime minister responsible for security.
Błaszczak: there will be sanctions
The defense minister referred to the publication of the journal Mariusz Błaszczak.
“Anti-vaccine terrorists cannot pretend to be soldiers of the Polish Army. We have completed work on regulations that will clearly prohibit uniforms from wearing by such groups and introduce sanctions” – he wrote. He announced that the regulation in this matter was directed to “interministerial consultations”.
Attacks on vaccination points
Recently, the activities of anti-vaccination communities have become more acute. This week, an unknown perpetrator set fire to it a mobile vaccination point against COVID-19 and the building of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Zamość. Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski appointed 10 thousand. PLN rewards for a person who will help identify the arsonist. He rated the event as “act of terror“.
Also this week’s anti-vaccine group surrounded a mobile vaccination point in Gdynia. The police sent 15 motions for punishment to the court in this case.
In Aleksandrów Kujawski, anti-vaccinationists entered orphanage. “They just came to intimidate me and attack me.” It was a traumatic experience – said the director of the facility.
At the end of July there was a struggle in front of one of the vaccination points in Grodzisk Mazowiecki caused by anti-vaccines trying to forcibly enter the building. During the police intervention, two people were arrested: one for violating the bodily integrity of an officer, the other for insulting and making criminal threats. The two men who had been guarding the vaccination site and who had sustained minor injuries stayed decorated by the Minister of Health.
Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki called the July scandal interventions by MPs from the PiS club – Janusz Kowalski (Solidarna Polska) and Anna Maria Siarkowska – on voluntary vaccinations for children in an orphanage.
