Munich manufacturer cars BMW discovered irregularities in connection with the export of cars to Russia. According to the company's statement, the practice was revealed by internal audits. Further car sales have been suspended. “In addition, the BMW Group has decided to dismiss employees who bear primary responsibility for this,” the statement reads.
From the BMW plant in Hannover to Russian customers

As a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine, international trade with Russia is subject to various conditions sanctionsincluding those imposed by the European Union. There is a strict embargo on car deliveries to Russian customers.
According to BMW, companies operating in various sectors are affected by this problem – their products are available in Russia, even though the companies themselves have complied with the sanctions. This is usually related to import from the so-called gray zone. The BMW Group assures that it tries to prevent such activities.
