On the premises of the Agricultural Production Cooperative in Bodzanów, Opole, final preparations are underway to receive equipment from the Bundeswehr sapper and engineering unit. Soldiers from Germany will help remove the effects of the September flood, which severely affected the Głuchołazy commune.

The area of ​​the Agricultural Production Cooperative in Bodzanów (Opole Voivodeship) was visited on Tuesday by representatives of the Bundeswehr engineering unit. According to Andrzej Turski, president of the cooperative, in the coming days this unit will join the action to clean up the damage after the September flood. He will bring his sapper and engineering equipment with him to Poland. – Construction and transport equipment will be stationed here. We have a suitable square, fenced and lit. The soldiers will be accommodated in the nearby Banderoza center. If necessary, we will of course host them and offer them coffee and tea, just like our soldiers who are already participating in the operation, Turski said.

“The situation is worse than in 1997”

Bodzanów, a village located in the Głuchołazy commune, is one of the towns most severely affected by this year's flood.
