A resident of Bodzentyn (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship) was detained by the police in connection with the killing of his dog. The 71-year-old allegedly explained to the police that the animal was causing problems and damage to the farm.

Police officers from Bodzentyn received a report of dog abuse on one of the properties at the beginning of November. The incident allegedly occurred over a month earlier.

“When the officers went to the indicated address, they found the man described in the report, who confirmed this information. As he explained to the intervening policemen, the animal was causing problems and damage to the man’s farm, so he decided to kill it,” we read in the police statement.

The 71-year-old pointed to the place where he buried the animal’s body. The man was detained and on Tuesday he was charged with animal abuse by acting with particular cruelty. He faces up to five years in prison.
