Candidate for ambassador to the USA, former head of the Ministry of National Defense and KO senator Bogdan Klich with a positive opinion of the Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee. Klich's candidacy is opposed by President Andrzej Duda, who announced that he will not sign this ambassadorial nomination.
The Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee issued a positive opinion on the candidacy of KO senator and former Minister of National Defense Bogdan Klich for ambassador to USA. A positive recommendation was also given to candidates for ambassadors in Austria and at the Council of Europe, i.e. Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz and Aleksander Pociej.
Klich emphasized that his priority as a future ambassador to the United States will be to support and develop the strategic political partnership between Poland and the United States.

– Without this, there is no point in talking about the security of our country. (…). A fundamental, essential issue will be to cultivate these contacts at the intergovernmental level (…), with both houses of the United States Congress and also in contacts at the state and local level – Klich said.
He added that the second priority would be the issue of security and defence policy.
Klich emphasized that the ambassador has an obligation to work with every US president, regardless of who he is. He assured – responding to questions and allegations from some members of the committee about his posts on social media regarding the candidate for US president Donald Trump – that he will not comment on any behavior of the President of the United States, regardless of whether he is a Democrat or a Republican.
The Ambassadors Dispute
The president opposes Klich's candidacy Andrzej Dudawho announced that he would not sign his nomination. However, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski In mid-July, he announced that Klich would soon take over as head of the Polish embassy in the USA.
The Committee also issued a positive opinion on the candidacies of Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz for the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Austria and Aleksander Pociej for the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Council of Europe.
The vote took place without media participation. After the vote, the head of the commission, Paweł Kowal, announced that all candidates had received positive opinions from the commission.
