A man permanently residing in Germany is suspected of persistently harassing and threatening to kill several people living in the district of Bolesławiec (Dolnośląskie). The 28-year-old, who targeted one woman in particular, made no attempt to hide himself, sending messages under his own name. He fell into the hands of the police when he came to visit Poland.

Several people were harassed. The victims knew each other, although they did not maintain any relations. Perhaps they also had the opportunity to meet the suspect in the past, although – as the police say – it is difficult to say that they were people they knew.

Threats and harassment

The situation lasted for a long time. – Using various instant messengers, the 28-year-old persistently harassed the woman and threatened to kill her. In addition, the suspect also made threats of deprivation of life and bodily harm to other people and violated the inviolability of one of them – informs Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, spokeswoman for the police in Bolesławiec.

Prosecutor’s office: irrational behavior

People who were threatened were afraid for their safety. The police investigating the case determined that the sender of the message lives and works in Germanybut from time to time he comes to Poland to visit. Thanks to operational work, they managed to set the next date for his trip to the Bolesławiec area. The 28-year-old was arrested.

– The man did not hide, sending these messages, he did it under his name and surname. His explanations were hard to understand. What he did was completely irrational. The suspect was placed in pre-trial detention for three months. He will undergo psychiatric examinations – says Ewa Łomnicka, head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.

According to the police, the man faces up to eight years in prison for harassment and making threats to kill.
