Most of us are appalled by the Prime Minister’s conduct. Even Maradona in the best of times did not do such flips on the pitch, as Mateusz Morawiecki does – commented in “Rozmowie Piaseckiego” on TVN24, PSL president Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He referred to reports according to which the head of government was to promise Polish footballers participating in the World Cup a bonus of PLN 30 million.

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz asked on TVN24 whether players should be given a bonus, he replied: – Do not give and do not promise at all. He added that “most of us are shocked, appalled by the Prime Minister’s conduct.” – Just a few days ago, he promises 30 million, then the government spokesman says that there was nothing like that, then in the evening they say that they will give this money to sports for children and youth, and finally Morawiecki withdraws from everything in the entry – said the guest of “Rozmowy Piasecki”.

He estimated that even Maradona in the best of times “didn’t do such flips on the pitch as Morawiecki does”.

– I don’t think this money is theirs [piłkarzom – przyp. red.] necessary and necessary for functioning – said Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Bonuses for players

Wirtualna Polska wrote on Monday that before the departure of Polish footballers to the World Cup in Qatar, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with the players and “he promised that if the national team leaves the group, it will receive a bonus of at least PLN 30 million”. In the recording of the meeting, a fragment of which was published on the online channel Łączy nas Bał, you can hear Morawiecki saying to the national team: – I believe in you, you will definitely give your best. And we here with the coach will ensure that – if we succeed – there will be a really good prize.

On Tuesday afternoon, the head of the government wrote in social media that “the problem of Polish football has been the level of funding for years”, but he made a reservation that “there will be no government funds for bonuses for football players”. Earlier that day, however, Morawiecki said that “some the bonus goes to our players.”

In turn, the Minister of Sport, Kamil Bortniczuk, informed on Tuesday evening about a meeting with Morawiecki and the president of the Polish Football Association regarding “a youth football support fund, football academies, a coaching training system and the development of sports infrastructure”.
