Before the Polish-Belarusian border crossing in Bobrowniki in Podlaskie Voivodeship, the waiting time for truck clearance has been reduced to 20 hours. On Monday morning, 500 trucks are waiting in line.
The Podlasie National Tax Administration announced that 300 trucks were cleared to Belarus during the last twelve-hour shift.
The queue, compared to Sunday evening, on Monday was shortened by several hours. Due to the fact that the queue is shorter – as reported by the Podlaskie National Insurance Agency – there is no longer a buffer zone in the station Waliły, which is being introduced to improve traffic. The warning about the creation of this zone also disappeared on Monday from the Regional Warning System.
Buffer zones are created on the access roads to Podlasie crossings with Belarus, when the queue begins to get longer and hinders the traffic of cars. Then it is divided and organized by KAS, the Border Guard and the police. When the next vehicles from the first part of the queue are cleared, the cars from the second part are gradually admitted to it.
According to information available on government websites, on Monday morning in Koroszczyn (Kukuryki) in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, trucks are cleared without queues.
Closed border crossing in Kuźnica
Due to the migration crisis, the border crossing in Kuźnica in Podlasie was closed on Tuesday, November 9. Travelers are directed to the border crossings in Terespol, Koroszczyn or in Bobrowniki in Podlasie.
“The Polish side was forced to take such actions due to the lack of reaction from the Belarusian side to attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border by organized groups of illegal migrants in the area of the road border crossing in Kuźnica,” the Border Guard announced in a press release.
