Tragic accident in Borzęcin Duży. A passenger car driver hit two teenagers. One died at the scene. The police reported that the driver was drunk, with almost three per mille of alcohol in his blood.

The incident was confirmed to us by Damian Dolniak, press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in the West Warsaw district. – The driver of a passenger car hit two teenagers. One died at the scene, the other was taken to hospital by helicopter of the Air Ambulance Service – he told tvnwarszawa.pl.

He added that they were 12-year-olds.

The JRG Błonie and OSP Borzęcin Duży units were dispatched to the scene. The police are conducting activities on site.

More details were provided to us by cadet Kamil Sobótka from the press team of the Warsaw Police Headquarters. – We received the report at 4:50 p.m. On Kosmowska Street, the driver of a BMW travelling from Borzęcin towards Ożarów, during an overtaking maneuver, lost control of the vehicle and hit a group of cyclists on the sidewalk. As a result of this incident, two people were injured. A 12-year-old died on the spot, and another 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital in serious condition – the police officer told us.

As cadet Sobótka added, the driver was drunk. – He had almost three per mille of alcohol and was detained by the police. On-site activities are underway under the supervision of the prosecutor – he summed up.
