The European Union is wasting money on Ukraine unnecessarily. Instead, it should financially support the integration of the Western Balkans, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday. In the Serb-dominated city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he met with the pro-Russian president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

At the end of February, the European Parliament approved long-term financial assistance for Ukraine of EUR 50 billion and the related revision of the EU budget for 2021-2027. – Even though they say there is no money, we gave 50 billion euros to Ukraine. What would happen if Bosnia and Herzegovina received EUR 30 billion? With this amount, a lot could be done in the country, but we are wasting money on war, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday in Banja Luka.

– I admire you, Serbs, for how you look for your place and how you find it in the new era. You are our neighbors and I have always supported you in international organizations. International politics is not fair to you, said Orban, receiving the award.

“This is not good news for Bosnia, Serbia or Hungary.”

– I will do everything to bring you closer to the European Union. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia should have become members long ago. The European Union is expanding eastwards and its expansion southwards is being put on the back burner. This is not good news for Bosnia, Serbia or Hungary, emphasized the Hungarian Prime Minister.
