Shiloh Jolie – this is the current name of the daughter of the acting couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, according to a court decision – inform the American media. Right after reaching the age of majority, the teenager decided to get rid of the part of her father's name.
Shiloh is the daughter of Hollywood greats Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. On May 27th, she celebrated her 18th birthday and that day she started efforts to have a name change recognized. According to the Los Angeles Times, in accordance with the procedure, in July the teenager posted a notice of the change in the pages of the newspaper. The case dragged on due to an error in the documents, but finally last Monday Shiloh's request was accepted by the Los Angeles County court – TMZ established. From now on, the 18-year-old's name and surname will be officially Shiloh Jolie.
Brad Pitt's daughter doesn't have his last name
Born in Namibia Siloh is one of six children of the acting couple – her siblings are Maddox, 23, and Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. And she's not the only one trying to remove her father's last name from her own. This year, Vivienne herself removed the Pitt suffix from the play “The Outsiders,” which she co-produces (with Angelina Jolie as the main producer). Their sister Zahara, meanwhile, goes by Zahara Marley Jolie on social media. Only Siloh has formally dropped her father's last name.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met on the set of the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” at the turn of 2003 and 2004. Pitt was then married to actress Jennifer Aniston, Jolie was divorced from Bill Bob Thornton. Although the press had speculated about their affair since 2004, the couple married a decade later, in a ceremony at France. In September 2016, the media reported that Jolie had filed for divorce. The marriage officially ended in 2019.
In 2022, Jolie's accusations against Pitt were revealed – that he hurt her and verbally assaulted the children during a private jet flight in 2016. Pitt allegedly “grabbed her by the head, grabbed her by the shoulders, shook her, pushed her against the bathroom wall and shouted various things at her” – CNN wrote at the time citing the report.
