Branded clothing was missing from packages. This is how the courier was supposed to pay off the debt

Thanks to the vigilance of an employee of one of the companies selling branded clothing, a 34-year-old courier was detained. He is suspected of theft. He was supposed to give the clothes from the packages to his former partner, thus paying off the debt. He heard eight charges.

– Suspicions that one of the employees of the courier company may be stealing parcels with clothing was reported by an employee of a company distributing branded clothing. Offers for sale of clothes from their new collection appeared on the advertising portal. After an in-depth analysis of the clothing offered, it turned out that the shortages in the assortment reported by the boutiques corresponded to those offered. The characteristic features did not raise any doubts that it was the property of the company. Police officers from the property crime department found out the details of the user of the account from which the ads were posted and paid an unannounced visit to the seller. There was a 34-year-old woman at the address indicated, who stated that she had received the items she was offering for sale as debt settlement from her former partner, who is employed in one of the courier companies.

– The courier was supposed to stay in Rembertów near Warsaw. After 8 p.m., a man drove up to the property in a service car, who completely did not expect the visit of the police. He admitted to stealing the goods he took from parcels received from the supplier. He also confirmed the version of the former partner. He looted goods worth over PLN 21,000 – adds asp. Iwona Kijowska.

After being taken to the police station, he was charged with eight thefts. He faces up to five years in prison.

The activities in the case are supervised by the Warsaw Mokotów District Prosecutor’s Office.
