SAO PAULO — Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro denied a report Thursday claiming he consulted with prime navy leaders on staging a coup to cease Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from assuming the presidency final January.
Three members of Bolsonaro’s authorized crew stated in a press release posted on social media channels that the far-right chief “by no means took any measure that conflicted the boundaries and assurances established by the structure.”
