Brodnica. A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a dog. He left the dead animal in the forest

Police officers from Brodnica (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) detained a man who is suspected of killing a dog. The 32-year-old faces up to five years in prison. The prosecutor’s office applied police supervision and a property surety in the amount of PLN 800.

The macabre discovery took place in early May on ul. Forest Avenue in Brodnica. The dead dog was found in a swampy area in a forest complex. The police then asked witnesses for help in identifying the owner of the dog.

“Thanks to numerous signals from residents, as well as a meticulous analysis of secured evidence and monitoring recordings, police officers identified a 32-year-old resident of Brodnica as a suspect in killing the animal” – said Sgt. staff. Paweł Dominiak from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Brodnica.

On Thursday (June 1), the man was arrested. The suspect will answer for killing a dog with particular cruelty, which is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

“The District Prosecutor’s Office in Brodnica applied police supervision to the suspect, under which he obliged him to appear at the police station 7 times a week and a property guarantee in the amount of PLN 800.” – informed the policeman.
