In one of the polling stations in Brodnica (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship), someone threw a white envelope with an unknown substance into the ballot box. Committee members found her while counting votes and called the police. It turned out that there was flour in the envelope. Disrupting the vote counting can result in up to five years in prison.

On Sunday (June 9), around 10.30 p.m., the police received a report that a white envelope with an unknown substance inside was found at the polling station at Przykop Street in Brodnica.

– While pouring out and counting the cards, the envelope fell out. Members of the electoral commission realized that there was some substance in it and notified the police, said Staff Sergeant PaweĊ‚ Dominiak, press officer of the Brodnica police.

The policemen who arrived on site informed the fire brigade. Firefighters performed tests to check what kind of substance it was.

The activities ended on Monday around 1 a.m. As the policeman added, activities are currently underway to identify the perpetrator.
