He drank alcohol while driving, lost control of the car and crashed into the fences of two properties in Brzeźnica (Lesser Poland Voivodeship). The 24-year-old, who at the time of the incident had two per mille of alcohol in his system, tried to run away, but one of the residents caught him. It turned out that a few days earlier the man had lost his driving license – also for driving on “double gas”.

The incident took place after 7 pm on Sunday (July 2) in Brzeźnica near Bochnia. Police received a report of a car that had left the road at a bend. The BMW passenger car stopped on a concrete culvert and the fences of two neighboring properties, perpendicular to the road.

No one was seriously injured.

When police arrived, the driver was treated by paramedics.

“Uniforms found out that the 24-year-old lost control of the vehicle on the bend of the road, and then hit the culvert and fences. A resident of the Brzeg district immediately after the incident tried to escape from the place, but he was caught by a resident of the village” – informed the Małopolska communiqué on Monday Police.

Officers checked the sobriety of the 24-year-old. A breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol content was two times the legal limit. The man admitted to the police that he had been drinking both before and during the drive.

“A check in the police database showed (…) that a resident of the Brzesko district has a suspended driving license, which he lost a few days earlier for … driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol,” reads the release of the Lesser Poland Police.

As the uniform informed, a 24-year-old man from the Brzesko district is now facing a penalty of up to two years in prison for driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a ban on driving for a period of three to 15 years and a fine.
