BTCC champion Harvey to make fashionable racing comeback in Porsche at Thruxton

Harvey, 59, raced one-make Porsches with nice success following the conclusion of his BTCC profession in 2002, profitable Carrera Cup GB titles in 2008 and 2010.

Regardless of not racing within the championship since 2011, he stays its most profitable driver by way of outright victories (36) and has essentially the most general podium finishes (108).

Harvey has restricted his racing appearances to historic competitors since claiming two podiums within the 2012 British GT championship in a Trackspeed Porsche, and completed second within the 2019 historic Components Ford 1600 championship.

He’ll now return to Porsches for the primary time in a decade on the BTCC-supporting Thruxton assembly, after agreeing a visitor driver take care of outstanding Porsche outfit Crew Parker Racing.

All drivers race the 425 horsepower 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

“I am unable to thank Porsche sufficient for this chance as I’ve needed to race in Dash Problem GB because it was first introduced and I attempted the automotive briefly on the Silverstone taster day in 2019.

“I’ll solely have raced historic vehicles for the previous few years, however I spend many days behind the wheel of a Porsche both on trackdays or driving my very own vehicles, so my ardour for driving and Porsche particularly is immense.

Theo Edgerton (TCR) at the moment leads the standings on 83 factors, having gained six races this season, with Redline Racing rival Jack Bartholomew on 61 factors his closest challenger.
