A 66-year-old tourist drove a car in Zakopane without a driving license. When he was stopped by the police, the car was to be picked up by his friend. He had, because when he gave his data, it turned out that the 42-year-old is wanted.

An unusual intervention of Tatra policemen took place on Monday (February 20) in Zakopane. Traffic police officers on Chałubińskiego Street stopped a Volkswagen driven by a 66-year-old man for inspection. As it turned out, the man did not have a driver’s license.

Police said the 66-year-old called his friend to come and pick up his vehicle.

– After some time, a 42-year-old man came to the place of intervention, whose personal details were checked by the officers in the police systems. It turned out that the man would not pick up the car because he would be detained because he was a wanted person. – reported staff officer Roman Wieczorek, press officer of the Zakopane police.

Eventually, the wanted man freed himself from imprisonment after paying the overdue fine. Then he could pick up his friend’s Volkswagen.

The 66-year-old, in turn, will be charged with driving without a license. He may face a heavy fine or even imprisonment.
