Two trucks that customs and tax officers stopped for inspection near Budzisko were used to transport used car parts and damaged and burnt vehicles from Lithuania – said Maciej Czarnecki, press officer of the Podlasie National Tax Administration, on Tuesday.

They were transported without appropriate permits and notifications. The carrier is facing financial penalties, and the prosecutor's office in Suwałki has also initiated an investigation.

Vehicle parts from dismantling and six damaged cars were transported in a container on a truck by a 57-year-old Belarusian. The cargo was inspected and previously examined with an X-ray scanner.

They classified the transported goods as hazardous waste
