Poznań firefighters knew that a battery repair shop was operating in the tenement house on Kraszewskiego Street, where the explosion occurred, “Gazeta Wyborcza” has established. According to the journalists' findings, the firefighters themselves used the services of the repair shop, repairing flashlights there, and did not notice the threat. A spokesman for the firefighters confirmed that the equipment was being repaired there, but denied that the fire department had any knowledge of what was in the basements of the building. Earlier, journalists from the program Uwaga! TVN spoke to a former employee of the company, who told them that small fires broke out in the building even two or three times a week and were extinguished with sand.
