Wilfredo Leon has still not played a single (not even an unofficial) match for Bogdanka Lublin. After the Polish international missed the pre-season tournament, his club issued a lengthy statement explaining the decision. Then the 31-year-old missed the season-opening match against Warta Zawiercie (27:29, 25:22, 25:23, 20:25, 15:12), but he should soon make his debut on the league courts.
Wilfredo Leon has announced when he will make his PlusLiga debut. Good news
Leon himself announced when exactly this will happen. – From the next match against Trefl Gdańsk at home I should be able to play without any problems, although I don't know if everything will be perfect right away – he said “Sports Review” Onet. Bogdanka will host Trefl on Friday, September 20 at 8:30 p.m.
The volleyball player's absence was influenced by health problems. It turns out that after the end of the national team season, he received a steroid injection in his knee. But his health is better now. – The doctors said that it is not an operable condition, which I am very happy about – he said.
Wilfredo Leon couldn't overdo it before the season started. “I'm getting back into shape”
Despite everything, Leon had to hold off on even less strenuous activities than matches. “After the injection, I had to wait a bit so as not to train full-time right away, but now I've started jumping and I'm getting back into shape. We'll see how my body reacts, but I'm optimistic and my break shouldn't be long,” he added.
With the 31-year-old in the line-up, the Lublin team will be a very uncomfortable rival for anyone, although the victory over the Polish vice-champions in the first round already makes Bogdanka take seriously. They currently occupy sixth place in the PlusLiga table.
