The police tracked down a couple of teenagers, 16-year-old Łukasz and 14-year-old Nicole, who had escaped from their family homes in Bydgoszcz. As they claimed, they wanted to spend their lives in Rome. They went there using the passenger transport app. They are now back in Poland.
A couple of teenagers who escaped from Bydgoszcz to the capital of Italy three weeks ago are now back at home. Their parents, assisted by the Italian police, took them to Poland after the story of Łukasz and Nicole circulated in the media.
16-year-old Łukasz and two years younger Nicole disappeared three weeks ago. Polish policemen immediately began searching for them. Officially, the officers do not want to inform about the search due to the request of the teenagers’ families, but confirm that both of them have already returned to the guardianship of their guardians, and the case was close to Interpol.
They reached Rome
As we found out unofficially, the couple, using the application for transporting people, went all the way to Rome, stopping in Toruń and Poznań on the way. The whole trip was supposed to cost them PLN 12,000. They rented an apartment on site. They changed phones to make it harder to track them.
When Italian officials knocked on their door, the 16-year-old said he did not want to return, but to spend his life with the 14-year-old in Rome.
