A woman to whom paramedics from Bydgoszcz (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) were called was so aggressive that she threw bricks at the ambulance. The intoxicated 38-year-old was arrested and charged. She faces up to five years in prison for damaging her vehicle.

According to Commissioner Lidia Kowalska from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz, on Monday around 4.30 am, the duty officer from the police station in Bydgoszcz Uplands received a report about an aggressive patient who was supposed to throw bricks at an ambulance.

“Rescuers received a report about the poor well-being of a person living at this address. When they arrived, they found a woman in front of the house who smelled strongly of alcohol, and her behavior indicated that she was under its influence,” the policewoman said.

The paramedics wanted to examine her because of the complaints she had previously reported to the dispatcher. They asked the woman to go to the ambulance. “They met with her aggressive resistance. At one point, the woman even started throwing pieces of bricks at their vehicle” – Commissioner Kowalska added.

No one was injured in the incident, but the ambulance was damaged – the car has dents and has paint damage in several places. As the press officer of the Bydgoszcz police said, after all, the woman closed the gate and entered the house.

“The 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the police station in connection with property damage. A resident of the Bydgoszcz district has already been charged with damage to the ambulance. For this type of crime, she is liable to imprisonment for up to 5 years. Her reprehensible behavior caused losses of PLN 15,000, for which he will also suffer the consequences” – said Commissioner Lidia Kowalska.
