A police helicopter helped rescue a driver who crashed into a ravine off Highway 1 in Sonoma County, California, last Friday (December 15).

The police officer lowered himself to the place where the car and its driver were stuck and then pulled the injured man out. The recording shows that the man was handed over to the care of the services who were waiting for him on the road above the gorge.

Two officers were on scene, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

Local media report that the injured party was transported by helicopter to the fire brigade headquarters in Monte Rio, from where he was taken to hospital.
