Winter has arrived in California – and right on your doorstep. Employees of a ski resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains found this out the hard way when they opened the door in the morning and saw a layer of snow almost reaching the upper door frame. Almost 90 centimeters of snow fell there in 24 hours.

They were crazy in Northern California on Saturday storms snowy. The situation was particularly difficult in the Sierra Nevada mountains, where floods were reported over the weekend hurricane wind gusts reaching 160 kilometers per hour. There was also extremely heavy snowfall.

90 centimeters a day

The latter took its toll on employees of the Sugar Bowl resort in Nevada County. On Saturday morning, they posted a video on social media of themselves opening the door, almost completely buried in heavily packed snow.

When, after many hours, employees managed to dig out the snow depth gauge, they managed to determine that almost 90 centimeters of snow had fallen there in the last 24 hours. Although the resort was open to skiers on Sunday, access to it was very difficult – one of the roads leading to Sugar Bowl was closed, and driving on the other required the use of snow chains.
