At least 15 people have been killed and 10 injured in an accident in Manitoba, Canada. A truck with a trailer collided with a minibus carrying elderly people there, police said.

“Ten people were taken to hospital with various injuries,” said Rob Hill of the Manitoba Provincial Police where the accident happened on Thursday. He added that there were a total of 25 people in the minibus, “mostly elderly people”. The minibus was hit by the trailer of the truck and then caught fire, police said.

“The news coming from Carberry, Manitoba is tragic,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted. “My deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones today, and those who have been hurt are in my thoughts. I cannot imagine the pain you feel, but Canadians are with you,” he added.

Both drivers are alive and were taken to the hospital, police said. As the officers said, “this is a large and very complex investigation” and it is possible that “a crime may have been committed”.
