There is a water shortage on the Italian island of Capri due to a failure, so the mayor has completely blocked the arrival of tourists. Only local residents can come to the island, he decided on Saturday.

There has been no water since morning due to a water mains failure. Mayor Paolo Falco has issued a regulation banning tourists from arriving in Capri.

As he explained, in the current situation it is impossible to guarantee basic services to thousands of people visiting the island every day.

Currently, the water reaching residents comes from local reservoirs, which have reserves, but they may run out at any time – the local government's press release emphasized.
