If the parliamentary elections were held at the end of August, 32 percent of respondents would vote for the Civic Coalition – according to the CBOS poll. In second place with support of 28 percent was Law and Justice, and in third place was the Confederation, which would be voted for by 16 percent of respondents. The worst result since the parliamentary elections was achieved by the coalition of Poland 2050 and PSL – notes CBOS.
WITH survey CBOS shows that if the parliamentary elections were held at the end of August, 79 percent of those eligible to vote would take part.
CBOS points out that interest in participating in potential parliamentary elections has changed slightly compared to the first half of July. “For two months, declared voter turnout has remained at a similar level of 78-80 percent. Just like at the beginning of the summer holidays, the possibility of voting in the elections is clearly rejected by 14 percent of adult Poles,” we read.
KO in the lead, followed by PiS
Compared to the previous month, August saw only a small change in the balance of power between the two most important groups, KO and PIS.
The latest poll shows that 32 percent of respondents would vote for the Civic Coalition (1 percentage point more than in July), and 28 percent for PiS (the same as in July).
In third place – as before – was Confederationwhose support increased by as much as 4 percentage points this month and in this survey stands at 16 percent.
Falling support for coalition partners
The groups that are part of the government coalition have seen a decline. 9 percent of respondents would vote for the Left (a drop of 2 percentage points), and the Third Way (PSL and Poland 2050) would be supported by 6 percent of respondents (a decrease of 3 percentage points).
CBOS points out that this is the worst result for the Poland 2050 and PSL coalition since the parliamentary elections.
As before, 9 percent of respondents wishing to take part in the elections do not know which party they would vote for.
The survey was conducted using computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) between 26 and 29 August 2024 on a sample of 1,000 adult residents of Poland.
