The first changes in traffic organization will be introduced in the area of ​​the Bródno Cemetery. On Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29, individual drivers will not drive along Św. Wincentego, between Rondo Żaba and Gilarska Street. In Bielany, Wólczyńska Street on the section from Arkuszowa to K. Wóycickiego and K. Wóycickiego Street at the main gate of the cemetery will be closed to individual cars and excluded from parking. Only Warsaw Public Transport buses will run there.

Drivers must expect more significant changes on Wednesday, November 1. On this day, the following places will be closed to cars: streets of St. Wincentego, Odrowąż and Wysocki, as well as a fragment of Mother Teresa Street from Kolkata – from Saint. Wincentego to Rembielińska. Parking lots will be designated at Matki Teresa z Kolkata and Wysocki streets.

People going by car to the Powązki Cemetery or the Military Cemetery should remember that they will not enter Powązkowska Street from Okopowa or from the Home Army Route. From Krasińskiego Street you will only be able to go to Tatarska. The road of Okopowa Street towards Ochota will also be closed, on the section from the Zgrupowania AK Radosława roundabout to Anielewicza Street. Parking lots will be provided on the line in the opposite direction. You will also be able to leave your car on the streets: Gen. Maczka, the so-called old Powązkowska, Okopowa, Tatarska and Ostroroga.

You can conveniently reach these cemeteries (Sowińskiego stop) by special buses on the lines: C12 (Okopowa – Cm. Wolski – Powązki), C84 (Pl. Narutowicza – Cm. Wolski – Cm. Północny), which you can board, among others: at the Bemowo and Płocka metro stations (C12 only). You can also get here by regular lines 105, 194, 197, 255, 713, 716 and Z26, as well as by tram 76 (Metro Młociny – Fort Wola).

Near the cemetery, one-way traffic will be introduced on the following streets: Sowińskiego from Pustola street towards Jana Olbrachta and Pustola from Antka Rozpylacza street towards Redutowa.

On Wednesday, November 1, buses and trams from 24 additional lines will hit the streets of Warsaw – some of them will run as often as every 1-2 minutes. Public transport will have priority in the area of ​​cemeteries, so it is better to leave the car at home and choose Warsaw Public Transport.

Cemetery buses and trams will run from: 7-19. The exceptions are lines C11 and C90, which take passengers to the vicinity of the Powązki Cemetery. Many people go there for a walk after sunset, so these buses will run from: 7-21.

In addition to special lines, access to cemeteries will also be possible by buses and trams of regular lines, which is why many of them will run more frequently and vehicles with larger capacities will be used to serve them. Additional bus stops will be opened near cemeteries. On-demand stops, which are in the immediate vicinity of the necropolis, will operate permanently on these days – buses will stop there without the need to signal such a need.

On this day, the largest number of trams and buses will run on routes – most cemetery lines will run with a frequency of 3-5 minutes. The most frequent line will be C09 – buses connecting the Młociny Metro node with the main gate of the Northern Cemetery will arrive every minute. Buses on line C13 on the route between the Bródnowski and Północne cemeteries will run approximately every 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Many people going to cemeteries will use the metro, which on November 1 – during the period of peak passenger traffic – will run every 3 minutes on the M1 line and every 3.5 minutes on the M2 line.

In total, together with regular bus and tram lines, over 1,300 buses and 250 trams will hit the capital’s streets. Traffic supervision instructors and informants will also go to work to ensure that passengers reach Warsaw cemeteries efficiently and safely.

Operations “Znicz” and “Hyena” in Warsaw cemeteries.

Before All Saints’ Day, the City Cleaning Authority (ZOM) carried out additional cleaning of the streets, sidewalks and bus stops in the vicinity of cemeteries. The clean-up concerns both the areas near the largest necropolises, such as the Northern Cemetery, Powązki Cemetery and Bródno Cemetery, as well as smaller, local ones, e.g. the cemetery in Marysin Wawerski or Wilanów. Additional cleaning is also being ordered for temporary bus loops and parking lots. However, in the first days of November, cleaning teams will empty bins on sidewalks and bus stops more often, up to 6 times a day. In case of sudden littering, the City Cleaning Authority will send emergency cleaning teams and the ZOM Emergency Cleaning Service.

Necropolis managers should ensure the cleanliness of cemeteries themselves, including providing waste containers. Waste from the candle and flower trade is obliged to be removed by sellers.

Crowds make grave visitors easy prey for pickpockets. Older people are most often the victims of criminals in cemeteries. In turn, thieves can break windows in cars left in parking lots to steal valuable items left in plain sight. To counteract criminal and hooligan incidents, city guards organize preventive activities under the code name “Hyena”. Several hundred officers will be dispatched to inspect the capital’s cemeteries and their surroundings. Activities will also be carried out at night. For this purpose, patrols will be equipped with night vision goggles, which facilitate observation in the dark. The usefulness of the equipment is confirmed by the officers’ experience from previous years.

Many people who do not travel around Warsaw on a daily basis will come to the capital in their own cars during All Saints’ Day. For common safety, it is worth remembering that traffic organization will be changed in many places. Difficulties can be expected in the vicinity of cemeteries and access roads. City guards taking part in the “Znicz” activities will monitor vehicle traffic and inform drivers about possible detours and access routes to designated parking lots. Drivers who do not comply with road signs, applicable restrictions and orders issued by officers must take into account sanctions. Guards will pay special attention to vehicle users whose behavior on the roads will endanger pedestrians. City Guard officers Warsaw will cooperate with police officers from the Road Traffic Department of the Capital Police Headquarters.

As every year, city guards will also control the legality of trade in the vicinity of cemeteries. This is primarily about running a business without the appropriate permits and consents of the land owners. These activities are aimed at eliminating the trade in stolen flowers, wreaths and tombstone decorations from cemeteries. Grave decorations are stolen, and sometimes even their entire elements.
