Preliminary details regarding the future contract, its economic conditions, technical requirements, experience and professional qualifications of potential contractors, as well as the rules and criteria for participation in the planned procedure can be found on the Smart PZP and TED websites.

– We plan to conduct the procedure in the competitive dialogue mode. This is an option that will allow us to consult ideas and solutions with potential contractors during the procedure, pointed out the director of the airport department at the STH, Jakub Łoch.

“Due to the scale of the project, which will require cooperation between the largest companies in Poland, we inform you in advance about our proceedings so that they can prepare for the formation of consortia” – wrote the president of STH Mikołaj Wild on Twitter.

According to the announcement, in addition to the construction of the terminal itself with an area of approximately 400,000 sq m to a “turnkey” condition, the basic scope of the contractor’s activities will include its functional connection with other facilities of the multimodal CPK transport hub. The scope of construction will also include the construction of a railway station with a connection to the railway station and a transfer node located in the immediate vicinity of the terminal building.

The announcement also specifies the possibility of extending the procedure to include construction options, e.g. multi-storey car park, delivery, assembly and commissioning of the BHS system (Baggage Handling System), elevators and moving walkways, and passenger bridges (PBB).

STH – plans for a mega airport

The CPK reminded that design works for the facility are underway, the architectural concept of which was presented by the British consortium of Foster + Partners and Buro Happold at the beginning of July this year.

Central Communication Port is a planned transfer hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, 37 km west of Warsaw, in the area of approx. ha, an airport is to be built, which in the first stage will be able to handle up to 40 million passengers a year.

The STH will also include railway investments: a junction in the immediate vicinity of the airport and connections throughout the country, which will enable travel between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in no more than 2.5 hours.

The CPK is to be launched in 2028 together with the railway junction and the Warsaw-Łódź High Speed Railway section. The rest of the CPK railway investments are planned until the middle of the next decade.

The CPK company is 100% owned by the State Treasury.
