The Journal of Laws published regulations on subsidies for cereals, including wheat, corn and rape, and financial support for mineral fertilizers. The regulations were adopted earlier on the same day by the Council of Ministers.
On Friday evening, two regulations on government aid for farmers were published in the Journal of Laws. The provisions of the regulation relating to additional support for producers of corn, rye, barley, oats, triticale, cereal mixtures or rapeseed or turnip rape will enter into force on Saturday.
In turn, the second regulation relating to aid for wheat producers and the program of subsidies for fertilizers will come into force after 7 days from the date of publication.
Two regulations
The regulation, which will come into force on Saturday, provides that the government will allocate additional support to producers of corn, rye, barley, oats, triticale, cereal mixtures or rapeseed or turnip rape, in connection with the increased imports of cereals and oilseeds from Ukraine.
Aid rates will be differentiated depending on the distance of individual regions of Poland from ports through which it is possible to export grain from the country and on markets in the west of the EU. According to the government, this solution should encourage farmers to sell cereals or rapeseed.
The second regulation refers to the launch of aid for farmers who sold or will sell wheat from April 15 to June 15, 2023. The support will also apply to agricultural producers who purchased mineral fertilizers other than fertilizer lime and fertilizer lime containing magnesium, from May 16, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
Both programs will require the approval of the European Commission.
