According to data from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management as of 8 a.m. on Sunday, there was a two-centimeter layer of white powder on Kasprowy Wierch, and the temperature at the peak dropped to -2 degrees Celsius.
“Snow cover was recorded on Kasprowy Wierch today – for the first time this season,” the Institute wrote on social media. However, as forecasters admit, this is not as unique a situation as it may seem. “In 2015, snow cover occurred on September 6, in 2017 on August 23, and in 2016 even on August 11,” it added.
