An amended regulation to the Special Flood Act was published in the Journal of Laws. It shows that employees injured in the September flood will be able to take additional leave from work until June 30 next year.
The amended regulation on the list of communes in which special solutions related to removing the effects of floods are applied adapts the provisions of the previous regulation on this matter to the changes introduced by the Act amending the so-called Flood Act.

The amended regulation extends the deadline for receiving support for employees injured by floods. This includes additional leave from work for up to 20 days to remove the effects of flooding on your property or the property of your relatives or partner. Pursuant to the amended regulation, the deadline for using such an exemption will be extended to June 30, 2025. In the original version, this support measure could be used until December 31, 2024.
Pursuant to the regulation, the deadline for the reporting period of assistance provided to employers in a difficult economic situation based in flood-affected areas will be extended until July 31, 2025, and the deadline for granting such assistance will be until September 15, 2025.
The regulation also introduces implementing provisions, including: to the instrument under which disabled persons who have received one-off funds from the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons to undertake activities in the form of a social cooperative – after its establishment – may submit an application by the end of 2024 for waiving the obligation to return these funds in whole or in part, if, as a result of a flood, membership in the cooperative will be shorter than 12 or 24 months, respectively.
The document also specifies the period (until March 31, 2025) during which a solution may be used, within which a generally accessible pharmacy can operate despite failing to meet specific premises requirements. Until the same day, the medical entity will be able to supply medicinal products to the medical entity affected by the effects of the flood.
On Tuesday, the amendment to the so-called the Flood Act, which provides for facilitations in providing assistance to persons and institutions that suffered in the September flood in southwestern Poland.
The changes contained in the amendment include, among others: enable all affected municipalities and poviats indicated in the regulation on the state of natural disaster to benefit from funding of up to 100%. costs of own tasks. Until now, this contribution had to be 20%.
The new regulations are also intended to ensure the continuity of health care services, support for non-public universities and allowances for their students, and support and possible relief for entrepreneurs. They are also intended to simplify the process of cutting down trees and shrubs, simplify the rules for granting benefits for renovation and construction purposes, and grant intervention benefits to public order organizations and farmers.
