Employers recruit more carefully

Karolina Lis, senior director at Hays Poland, points out in an interview with the daily that: the main reason for extending many recruitment processes is greater cost discipline. – If companies decide to invest in a new employee, they want to be sure that the money will be wisely spent – he explains.

According to its analysis, the average job search time this year was 2.8 months, which is 0.3 months less than at the end of last year. However, in the case of people with higher education it was already 3.2 months.

– Therefore, it is worth asking the recruiter in advance about the planned duration of the recruitment process, the number of its stages, the participation of managers from global structures and additional tasks and tests. The length of recruitment depends on the industry, position, required skills, as well as the money allocated to employ the candidate – advises Marta Koziarska, head of the engineering recruitment team at LHH, quoted by “Rz”.

“Negotiations are about salary”

As we read in the daily, negotiations most often come down to the candidate's financial expectations. With very strong pressure to reduce costs, salary negotiations are now more difficult and often longer than during the recruitment rush two years ago, when companies more often agreed to rates above the market – adds Marta Koziarska.

Experts also point out that companies are currently paying a lot of attention to the candidate's value-to-price ratio. Unlike the recruitment processes conducted a few years ago, now no one intends to overpay unless the candidate has additional skills.
