The worst that could happen today is the resignation of the Prime Minister – said MEP and candidate for the European Parliament Robert Biedroń (Left Wing) in “Kropka nad i”. He referred to the voices demanding the resignation of Donald Tusk in connection with the case of detained soldiers who intervened on the border with Belarus. Councilor and candidate in the European elections Tobiasz Bocheński (PiS) said that “it cannot be that soldiers who defend the Polish border are handcuffed.”

Law and Justice councilor and candidate of this party to the European Parliament Tobiasz Bocheński and MEP and co-chairman of the New Left Robert Biedroń, seeking to renew their mandate in the European Parliament, spoke in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the detention and charges against soldiers intervening on the Polish-Belarusian border. This happened at the turn of March and April, but the public only learned about it on Wednesday. Politicians PIS they demand the resignation of the Prime Minister.

According to Biedroń, “the worst that could happen today is the resignation of the prime minister of the fifth largest European Union country, the resignation of the minister of defense.” – These are unimaginable things – just before elections lead to such chaos – he commented.

He emphasized that “clarifications are certainly important” because “the matter is obviously too serious to leave it.” – But the voices, which in my opinion are from the Kremlin, calling for such radical moves are irresponsible, he said.

According to him, “you really have to keep all the proportions here.” – Of course, the situation that happened regarding these soldiers must be clarified. It raises a lot of controversy and questions, but certainly not resignation – added Biedroń.

“It cannot be that soldiers who defend the border are handcuffed”

– I believe that we are dealing with an extremely scandalous situation in this case, because it cannot happen that soldiers who defend the Polish border are handcuffed – said Bocheński.

When asked if it was the prime minister's fault, the councilor replied that “the prime minister is responsible for everything at this point.” – After all, he is the head of the executive power – he added. He also pointed out that “Minister (of Defense, Władysław) Kosiniak-Kamysz knew for three months and concealed this fact from the public.”

Onet reported about the soldiers' case on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the turn of March and April. The Military Police detained three soldiers who fired warning shots during the refugee attack across the Polish-Belarusian border. “The prosecutor's office accused two of them of exceeding their powers and endangering the lives of other people,” Onet reported. The Minister of Defense shared his knowledge about this incident on Thursday morning at a press conference. He emphasized that the soldiers had not been arrested and the case was ongoing.
