Chaos

For several days we have been describing the chaos at the Warsaw Railway Junction on tvnwarszawa.pl. The problems began with the correction of the timetable, which entered into force on March 12. Passengers of all carriers felt it mainly on Monday and Tuesday. At that time, the manager of the railway infrastructure, PKP PLK, made an arbitrary decision to reduce the number of connections by the SKM and Koleje Mazowieckie trains. During Wednesday’s press conference, the vice-president of PKP PLK, Mirosław Skubszyński, assured that the situation at the junction “is stable”.

Call for explanations and announcement of inspection

The President of the Railway Transport Office called on PKP PLK to provide explanations, including information on the sources of these events and actions taken to reduce the risk of similar events in the future. Tomasz Frankowski, spokesman for UTK, informed about this on the “Rynek Kolejowy” portal.

The President of UTK also announces an inspection, which may end with administrative proceedings and the imposition of a fine on the infrastructure manager. According to “Rynek Kolejowy”, the President of UTK is already conducting administrative proceedings against PKP PLK regarding the use of unlawful practices infringing collective interests of passengers in rail transport, consisting in failure to provide appropriate information.
