Rosa Chacon of Chicago has been missing since mid-January. Two months later, three days before her 22nd birthday, the police announced that the young woman’s body had been found. The corpse was bound and wrapped in a sheet, relatives identified Rosa by her tattoos, ABC 7 Chicago reported.

Rosa Chacon’s body was found on the morning of March 15 in Chicago, about 2.5 kilometers from the house where the 21-year-old lived on a daily basis. According to ABC 7 Chicago, the corpse was bound and wrapped in a sheet in a shopping cart abandoned in a small alley. According to the station, the next day, relatives identified Chacon thanks to her tattoos, which may suggest that her body was in poor condition. The cause of the woman’s death has not yet been announced. Police said a homicide investigation has been launched.

“I don’t know what kind of heart it takes to do something like that,” the victim’s mother, also named Rosa Chacon, told the station.

Chicago. The Disappearance and Death of Rosa Chacon

Chacon was last seen in surveillance footage from January 18. The video shows the 21-year-old getting into an app-ordered car outside her home, ABC 7 Chicago reports. “She said, ‘I’ll be back, Mom. I’ve booked an Uber ride back and forth,'” the mother of the murdered woman told the station.

The woman indicated that she did not know where her daughter was going or who ordered her ride. However, she claims that she was not the 21-year-old herself. As she added, Rosa did not take any things with her, not even a coat or an ID card. ABC 7 Chicago contacted an Uber representative about this, but in response, journalists heard that the company, for privacy and security reasons, cannot provide detailed information about trips.

As reported by the “Chicago Tribune”, on Saturday, March 18, the day Rosa Chacon would celebrate her 22nd birthday, dozens of people gathered in front of her house. Gregory Chacon, the older brother of the murdered woman, who was present at the scene, told the newspaper that his sister “would have been found long ago if the police started searching – but they only assured the family that there was no crime, that nothing had happened to her.” Officers have not yet commented on the allegations.
