Flash floods hit the northern Chinese city of Xian on Monday. The streets began to resemble rushing rivers.
The streets of the city of Xian in Shaanxi province, with a population of about 13 million, were flooded after heavy rainfall.
The recording from the Changan district shows a woman holding on to some furniture on the street. The fast flowing water pushes her down with him and knocks her to the ground. After a while, a man appears in the video and was also swept away by the masses of flood water.
The weather services issued an orange alert. It was forecast that 50 liters of rain per square meter would fall in Changan district in three hours. Forecasters also announced storms and strong wind.
