As a result of the heavy downpour that passed over Mazovia on Monday, part of the roof of the hall in Chlebnia near Grodzisk Mazowiecki collapsed. The workers managed to escape. The TVN24 reporter talked to a witness of the dramatic events.

Bartosz Frątczak is on the board of one of the companies that rents storage space in a hall near Grodzisk Mazowiecki. He was inside when the weather broke. In a conversation with a TVN24 reporter, he described that the storm broke out suddenly, the rain was heavy, and it was accompanied by a strong wind.

– It lasted for at least 20-25 minutes. The rain was very heavy the whole time, it didn't stop. As a result, a lot of water gathered on the roof, which couldn't drain away. At some point, the roof started to creak, crack and even started to hang – he described.

The workers escaped before the roof collapsed.

He added that there were about 20 workers on site who managed to escape before the roof collapsed. Thanks to this, no one was hurt. Frątczak appreciated the reaction of the warehouse manager, who quickly reacted to the disturbing sounds coming from the roof space and the leaks. – Thanks to this, we managed to call everyone outside to the assembly point – he assessed.

According to our interlocutor, about one third of the building was damaged, which is why it is inaccessible to entrepreneurs. “We can't get there now,” he noted.

There were over 400 people inside.

The State Fire Service reported that in the hall in Chlebnia At the time of the incident, there were over 400 people working inside. As we have established, no one was seriously injured.

A similar incident also occurred nearby, in Natolin. Part of the roof also collapsed there. There were no injuries. The hall was new.

All in connection with the storm that passed over Mazovia on Monday.
