The District Sanitary Inspector in Stargard reported that the water was unfit for consumption by the residents of Chociwel and the village of Lublino (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). Coliform bacteria were detected in it. Corrective actions have already been taken. Until then, residents are forced to use substitute water collection points located in several places in the cities.
Since Wednesday (September 4), residents of Chociwel and the village of Lublino have been without water. This is all due to a statement from the District Sanitary Inspector in Stargard, who stated that the water is unfit for human consumption.
The results of tests on samples taken on September 2 indicated that the water “does not meet the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of December 7, 2017 on the quality of water intended for human consumption, due to microbiological contamination (coliform bacteria)”.
Sanitary Inspectorate It was also pointed out that tap water should not be drunk, used for cooking, or used to wash fruit, vegetables or kitchen utensils. It was also noted that it is not suitable for bathing, brushing teeth or washing open wounds.
Tap water may only be used for sanitary purposes.
Alternate points have been designated
The Mayor of Chociwel has appointed the Municipal Crisis Management Team, which has identified, among other things, substitute points where drinking water can be collected. A total of eight points have been designated. These are: the Educational Complex in Chociwel, the DINO store square on Dworcowa Street, the diagnostic station in Chociwel, at Grunwaldzka Street, at Robotnicza Street, the market square in Chociwel, the square near the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Chociwel, and the so-called forester's lodge in Lublin.
Additionally, meals and school taps were secured, and water was delivered to the facility.
“Appropriate disinfectant products and wipes were purchased for the children, all information was posted on the school's website and information on this matter was provided to the children's parents and guardians,” we read in the statement.
Additionally on the website Water and Sewage in Chociwel a list of replacement water collection points has appeared for the duration of repair work.
