Border guards at Chopin Airport detained a citizen of Ukraine wanted with a red interpol note. He was brought to the prosecutor's office and arrested for seven days.
The Ukrainian flew to Poland on Friday, June 20, from Great Britain. During the border control, border guards determined that a foreigner was in databases as a person sought after by the Ukrainian justice system.
“The man was covered by the red note of Interpol – the highest degree of the international alert – to arrest and transfer or extradition in connection with the financial fraud committed,” said in a statement of the Vistula Border Guard Department.
The man was taken to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. By the court's decision, the man was temporarily imprisoned for seven days in one of Warsaw's detention centers.
