Archbishop on mercy towards perpetrators

In connection with the acts of desecration, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Białystok, Józef Guzdek, asked the faithful to pray for the intention of atonement. On Sunday, August 4, after each mass, supplications were sung in all parishes of the archdiocese.

“(…) we express our sadness and regret and ask God to strengthen our faith and show mercy to the perpetrators. Every act of profanation is an insult to God, an expression of disrespect for believers and the values they profess, and is contrary to the principle of religious freedom,” we read in a statement on the metropolitan curia's website.
