The military SAR helicopter, which flew to the rescue operation on Monday after the plane crash in Chrcynno, could not leave the scene. Turns out it had a glitch. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces Branches claims that the problems did not affect the rescue operation, because the transport of the wounded was carried out by the Polish Medical Air Rescue.

Monday after the plane crash in Chrcynno services arrived on the scene. Helicopters of the Polish Air Rescue Service and a military W-3 Sokół helicopter in the rescue version (SAR) also took part in the action – this one could not leave the place of action. Several times he hovered several meters above the ground. The City Reporter profile informed about the problems in social media. On Facebook it was written that on Tuesday (the day after the disaster – ed.), a few people arrived by coach and started repairing the helicopter. “After the checks, a check flight took place twice, interspersed with landings. At the very end, the helicopter most likely flew to the place of stationing” – we read on the profile of the City Reporter.

“Problems did not affect the rescue operation”

What exactly happened? – The SAR crew from Mińsk Mazowiecki was called and carried out rescue operations in Chrcynno on Monday. After the end of these activities, a defect in the helicopter was found, which prevented its direct return to the base, said Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, spokesman for the Operational Command of the Armed Forces in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl. The fault concerned the propulsion system of the aircraft, says Goryszewski.

– When the defect was found, procedures were implemented to keep the backup crew ready, if there was a need to use it – the military explained.

The fault of the SAR helicopter was repaired by military technicians. – After the improvement, the helicopter returned on Tuesday around 1 pm to the base in Mińsk Mazowiecki – Goryszewski informed.
