Ciechanów police detained a 35-year-old man after a motorcyclist hit the back of the Audi he was driving. – It turned out that the driver of the car injured in the collision was wanted to serve a prison sentence. At the same time, it also came to light that he had two driving bans, says the spokeswoman of the local police station.
Ciechanów police spokeswoman Magda Zarembska announced on Monday that the 35-year-old was arrested during officers’ intervention after a road collision on one of the streets of this city.
– The police determined that the driver of the Kawasaki motorcycle, a 53-year-old resident of the Ciechanów poviat, hit the rear of an Audi vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man, also a resident of this poviat. During the activities, it turned out that the injured party was wanted on the basis of a warrant issued by the district court in Ciechanów to serve a ten-month prison sentence, Zarembska said.
He will appear in court again
As she noted, by checking the databases at the scene of the incident, the officers determined that the 35-year-old also had two active driving bans issued by the same court.
“The 53-year-old man who caused the road collision was cautioned. The 35-year-old man has already been sent to prison. He will once again answer to court for the crime he committed,” explained the spokeswoman for the Ciechanów police.
According to Art. 244 of the Penal Code, violating the driving ban is punishable by imprisonment from three months to five years.
