Ciechanów. The police detained drunk drivers. The record holder had almost three per mille of alcohol in his body

Last weekend, police officers from Ciechanów detained three drunk drivers. One was located thanks to a citizen’s report. The driver of the JCB backhoe loader had three per mille of alcohol in his body. Another two drivers – almost per mille and one and a half per mille. Both were banned from driving.

Last Saturday, September 2, the officer on duty at the Ciechanów police station received a report that a loader was traveling on the Bogucin – Opinogóra Górna route and the driver may be drunk. – The reporting person, seeing that the driver was not keeping track, cut him off and tried to prevent him from driving further, but the man drove away – said Magda Zarembska from the District Police Headquarters in Ciechanów in a statement.

A traffic patrol arrived at the indicated location. A moment later, the police detained a 30-year-old resident of the Ciechanów district. – A sobriety test showed that the man had almost three per mille of alcohol in his body. The officers detained the 30-year-old’s driving license – added Zarembska. The man will answer to court for the crime he committed. He faces up to 2 years in prison.

Drunk, banned from driving

Another drunk driver was stopped by the police last Sunday, September 3, around 1.40 on Tysiąclecia Street in Ciechanów. – The sobriety test of the 32-year-old Opel driver showed almost 100% of alcohol in his body. After checking the police databases, it turned out that the resident of the Płońsk district had an active driving ban issued by the District Court in Płońsk – the policewoman said in a statement.

On the same day around 18.45 in Jarluty Duże officers from the Police Station in Regimin stopped a Volkswagen driver for a road check. – A 49-year-old resident of the Ciechanów district got behind the wheel with over 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. The man also has a driving ban issued by the District Court in Łomża – added Zarembska.

For the crimes committed, the 32- and 49-year-olds face up to 5 years in prison.

“Let’s take care of road safety together”

The police appeal and remind that alcohol has a negative effect on the human body. – We lose the ability to concentrate and sense of reality. The ability to assess the situation and reaction time significantly increases. Never get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol! A drunk driver is a deadly threat to all road users, the officers emphasized in the statement. As they added, last weekend shows that some drivers do not care about their own safety and that of other road users.

– Let’s not be indifferent when we see someone under the influence of alcohol trying to get behind the wheel. Let’s inform the police if we see a driver’s driving behavior being suspicious. Let’s take care of road safety together – appealed the uniformed officers.
