Police chased a young man who had rented a car and fled. – Service weapons were used – the prosecutor from Cieszyn (Silesian Voivodeship) reported. No one was injured, but the car was damaged.

Police officers from Bielsko-Biała detained a man on Monday evening who rented a car in a nationwide car rental in Silesia and did not return it.

The case is being handled by the Prosecutor’s Office in Cieszyn. He does not specify the age of the man (it is only known that he is young) or what brand the car was appropriated.

Warning shots fired

The driver was tracked thanks to the GPS installed in the car. When the police tried to stop him, he ran away. They set off in pursuit, which took place in two poviats, Cieszyn and Bielsko.

– Police officers used service weapons and as a result the perpetrator was arrested – Andrzej Hołdys, District Prosecutor in Cieszyn told us.

The action took place in a public place, in front of a shop.

No one was injured as a result of the shots fired. The shots were fired as part of the so-called warning shots. Unfortunately, the car was damaged.

When questioned, he admitted that the car was also damaged by shots.

The case is being clarified, including interrogations. The man is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
