Civil partnerships, blackout in Cuba, priest will remain in custody

A draft act on registered partnerships has appeared on the website of the Government Legislation Center. Due to the failure of the main power plant in Cuba, the entire island was left without electricity. In turn, the District Court did not accept the defenders' appeal against the detention of MichaƂ O. 1. Draft act on civil partnerships on the RCL website

A draft act on registered partnerships authored by the Ministry of Equality has appeared on the website of the Government Legislation Center Katarzyna Kotula (Left).

The project covers the issues of concluding and annulling relationships, property relations and participation in the care of a child. “This is a new chapter in the long march for equality,” wrote Kotula, emphasizing, however, that the regulations do not include the issue of adoption of children.

2. Blackout in Cuba

Due to the failure of the main power plant on Cuba the entire island was left without electricity, Reuters reported on Friday, citing a statement from the Ministry of Energy.

The authorities closed schools and some businesses and sent administrative workers home. Residents are organizing protests in several cities, Cuban independent media reported.

3. The Israeli army showed the last moments of the Hamas leader

Army Israel published a drone recording which, according to it, shows the last moments of the life of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

It shows a building destroyed after shelling, with a man covered in dust sitting on an armchair among the rubble. At first he remains motionless, and after a while he throws something towards the drone with a camera recording it. Sinwar was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip.

4. State of emergency in Tuscany

On Friday night, western Tuscany was hit by heavy rainfall. According to the Italian news agency ANSA, 172 liters of rain per square meter fell in places.

Governor of Tuscany Eugenio Giani introduced state of emergency in the provinces of Livorno, Pisa, Siena, Grosseto and Pistoia, where a landslide also occurred.

5. Court decision in the case of the detained priest

The District Court for Warsaw-MokotĂłw did not accept the defenders' complaint against the detention of MichaƂ O. – informed the National Prosecutor's Office.

This is the president of the Profeto Foundation, which was to build a support center for crime victims in Warsaw's WilanĂłw for almost one hundred million zlotys. The priest's defense attorney announced that he would file a complaint with the International Court of Human Rights.

6. The prosecutor's office notified in the Matecki case

There is a notice to the prosecutor's office regarding PiS MPpreviously the representative of Sovereign Poland Dariusz Matecki in connection with his employment in the State Forests.

As TOK FM radio reported, foresters will demand that the MP return over PLN 320,000. The MP commented on this on social media.
