The inhabitants of Glina in the Otwock district watched a stork for several days, which could not fly away from the nest. Concerned, they called firefighters to the site, who evacuated the bird and handed it over to the Mazowiecki Landscape Park.
About the editorial Contact 24 Alexandra informed. “In the village of Glina near Celestynów, a non-flying stork was evacuated from the nest. The fire brigade arrived on the spot, which received a report from the inhabitants of the surrounding houses. The stork was sitting in the nest all the time, it could not fly up. Firefighters took the bird to a safe place to give it help,” she said.
Maciej Łodygowski from the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Otwock confirmed the information about the intervention.
– On Saturday at 17.41 in the village of Glina, the intervention of the fire brigade took place in connection with a sick stork. Local residents had been watching him for several days and, seeing that he did not leave the nest, informed the firefighters. The bird was safely evacuated from the nest and transferred to the care of the Mazowiecki Landscape Park, where it will be helped. Two fire brigade units, i.e. 10 rescuers, were operating at the site, Captain Łodygowski said.
