Clays. Collision on DK50, difficulties on the bridge

For over three hours, the national road number 50 between Góra Kalwaria and Kołbiela was seriously difficult. There was a frontal collision of two passenger cars near the bridge on the Vistula. Both drivers were hospitalized. One of them was resuscitated, the other was stuck in the vehicle.

The accident occurred around 15.15 in Glinki in the Otwock poviat. – Two passenger cars collided in front of Góra Kalwaria: Volkswagen and Skoda. As a result of the collision, both drivers were taken to hospitals – the commissioner Rafał Markiewicz from the Warsaw Police Headquarters informed.

Stuck driver

More details of the accident were given by the fire brigade. As the younger aspirant Bartłomiej Baran, spokesman for the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Otwock, heading Volkswagen was jammed in the vehicle. – We had to use hydraulic tools to free the injured person. Then it was handed over to the Medical Rescue Team. This person was conscious and contact, suffered limb injuries – he explained.

He added that the Skoda driver was unconscious when the first bridesmaids from one of the local TSOs arrived at the scene of the accident. – We conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation. After a few minutes, a medical emergency team joined the firefighters. These activities were successful. The victims of the injured person were restored – informed young asp. Aries.

The Skoda driver was taken to the hospital by the Air Ambulance helicopter.

Blocked road

Services worked at the accident site. Three emergency teams, helicopter, police and five fire brigades were disposed of there. The road was blocked in both directions. A detour has been marked.

A spokesman for the Otwock Fire Brigade explained that the passage through the bridge in Góra Kalwaria was possible. Just before the accident site, it was possible to exit the provincial road in the town of Ostrówek, towards the town of Kosiumce and further through Piotrowice.

Police recommendations

In turn, the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno recommended drivers who want to get through the Vistula to the Otwock poviat to use a detour through Warsaw. “At the Góra Kalwaria junction, turn left into the national road No. 79 and go through Piaseczno to Warsaw to the S2 route (tunnel near Ursynów), and then through the S2 route to get to the other side of the Vistula and Return S17 Return to the K50 route” – they advised on Facebook.

As the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways informed, the difficulties ended at 18.27.
